Shopping
Temple is served by the Colonial Mall, located on S. 31st Street, housing JC Penney’s, Dillard’s, & Foley’s, which will become Macy’s in the fall of ’06. Colonial Mall is also home to a variety of specialty shops & the Premiere Cinema 16 Theatre. Also located on 31st Street, you will find Super Wal-Mart & Sam’s Club. There are also several strip shopping centers throughout the area, as well.
Transportation
The “Hop” offers local service throughout the Killeen/Harker Heights/Temple/Belton area.
Hospital
There are three primary hospitals servicing the city of Temple -Scott & White, King’s Daughters, & the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System. Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center is located on nearby Fort Hood.
Airport
Temple is served by Draughton-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport. The Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport is also nearby, offering commuter air transportation to DFW International & the Houston Airport.
Dining
There are several culinary offerings located in Temple for dining out. Colonial Mall houses The Cotton Patch Café, Fuddruckers, & Casa Ole. Downtown, you will find the well known Cheeves Brothers Steakhouse, which features complimentary valet parking. Sorge’s Italian Restaurante is located near the downtown district, offering exceptional food and service to maintain it’s excellent reputation. Other well reputed restaurants include Pignetti’s, two Starbucks locations with drive thru service, Golden Corral Family Steakhouse, & Las Casas, home to Temple’s famous white wings. Several franchise and locally owned restaurants are also scattered throughout Temple.
